PASCO, Wash. — Sandpoint High product Kayla Neumann had 17 kills and six digs for North Idaho College in a 23-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-13 win over the Columbia Basin Hawks in a Northwest Athletic Conference match on Friday night.
The win pushes NIC (16-5, 6-0 NWAC) past Columbia Basin (16-5, 8-1) for the lead in the East Region.
Halle Hess had 15 kills and eight digs, Haylee Templeton 46 assists and Rachel Leshikar 18 digs for NIC, which hosts Wenatchee Valley today at Christianson Gym.

COEUR d’ALENE — Conner Kinnune’s first-half goal was all the Cardinals needed to earn a Northwest Athletic Conference win against the visiting Chukars at Eisenwinter Field.
Playing its fourth game in eight days, NIC coach Ken Thompson thought his team looked a little ragged, but gave a strong effort.
“We had a few highpercentage chances early and put one away for the early lead,” Thompson said of Kinnune’s goal in the 18th minute. “It’s our second shutout in a row — a good effort by the guys and good focus to finish off the shutout.”
The Cardinals (3-6-2, 2-3-2 NWAC) host Blue Mountain today.

COEUR d’ALENE — Zoe Lee scored a pair of unassisted goals for the Cardinals in a Northwest Athletic Conference win against the Chukars at Eisenwinter Field.
Chelsea Love had a goal and assist for NIC (8-4, 6-2 NWAC), which hosts Blue Mountain today. The Cardinals are third in the East Region, trailing Spokane by one point for second and Walla Walla by six for first in the region.
