Valerie Susan “Val” McDowell Syth, 47, died suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.
Val was born August 11, 1970, in Sandpoint, Idaho, the daughter of Margie and Pat McDowell. She attended Sandpoint schools; later getting her GED.
Valerie married Jack Campbell and to this union she had one daughter, Samantha. She later divorced and married Wade Syth. She had two more children, Amanda and Haley.
Val enjoyed so many different things in her life. She owned a small antique shop, she worked for the Daily Bee, and flagged around the area. Valerie always had her eyes out for a special rock or two.
She is survived by her mom, Margie; her three daughters, Sam, Amanda (Zack), and Haley (Curtis); the loves of her life, her three grandsons, Cash, Riley, and Carter Dillon; her grandmother, DeEsta Bishoff of Rexburg, Idaho; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Valerie was preceded in death by her dad, Pat; her grandparents, Maxine and Raymond McDowell; her uncle, Mike; and her grandfather, Ruben Bishoff.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the Eagles Lodge, 1511 Johnny Long Road, in Sandpoint.
