SPRAGUE — A Othello woman was injured near Sprague Monday night after she was reportedly struck by a pickup truck as she was standing outside of her vehicle on Interstate 90.

About 7:45 p.m. Brianna Harper, 21, of Othello, was traveling east on I-90, about eight miles west of Sprague, and reportedly pulled over to the side of the road.

Harper and her passenger, TJ Benavidez, 18, of Othello, reportedly got out the vehicle for an unknown reason. A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Richard Boring, 76, of Flowery Branch, Ga., drifted into the right shoulder and struck Harper’s vehicle. Harper, who was reportedly standing by the driver’s side door, was reportedly struck by the truck as well, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Harper was injured in the collision and transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. The patrol reports the cause of the collision was Boring drifting into the shoulder. Charges are pending.
