POST FALLS — A 34-year-old Post Falls fugitive faces multiple charges after allegedly taking off in a bail enforcement agent's truck and dragging the victim during the escape.

According to Post Falls Police, Travis E. Barnes was arrested this week in Spokane after an incident on Friday in the parking lot of Super 1 Foods, 805 E. Polston Ave., Post Falls.

Barnes faces charges for robbery, grand theft, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and battery, according to a report released by PFPD on Wednesday.

Five bail enforcement agents were at the Super 1 parking lot at 10 a.m. on Friday waiting for Barnes and a female to exit the store so they could arrest the male suspect on a bond revocation, the report states.

"Agents pulled their vehicles around Travis' in an attempt to block him in and prevent him from leaving," the report states.

Barnes allegedly fled on foot and was chased by the agents.

"A short foot pursuit ensued," the report states. "A couple of the agents (applied a stun gun on) Travis to no avail."

One agent told police Barnes punched him in the chest during the course of the alleged robbery.

Barnes allegedly took off in the agent's 2005 Dodge 3500 pickup truck. When the agent attempted to stop Barnes, the agent was dragged a short distance in the parking lot before freeing himself from the vehicle.

He told police he suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.

According to police reports, Barnes struck a 2014 GMC Sierra truck owned by another agent, damaging both vehicles.

The agent whose Dodge truck was allegedly stolen told police that he and another bail bondsman recovered the vehicle outside Post Falls on Friday night.

The agent whose truck was allegedly stolen told police his wallet with $500 in cash and credit cards and an iPad had been removed from the vehicle but a stun gun remained inside.

Barnes' criminal history includes burglary, probation violation, possession of controlled substance and obstructing.
