POST FALLS — A 26-year-old transient is on the run, accused of tying up a Post Falls man and woman while armed with a knife and stealing gold and silver coins, cash, cell phones and a vehicle.
According to Post Falls Police, Brandon Cody Marlow, who most recently lived in Coeur d'Alene, knows the victims.
"He apparently had an argument with them, demanded that they sit down so he could tie them up and took what he could that was valuable from them and left," Post Falls police Capt. Greg McLean said. "The victims complied because he had a steak knife."
The incident occurred on Wednesday around 2 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of S. Riverside Harbor Dr.
The victims, both senior citizens, were not injured. The man freed himself after about 45 minutes before going to a neighbor's home to call 911. Police then freed the female.
McLean said Marlow used electrical cords and tape to tie the victims' hands.
Marlow is on felony probation and has a criminal history that includes drugs, weapons possession, grand theft and burglary. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
"He doesn't have a history of harming people, but he's been into drugs and has made a lot of poor decisions in his lifetime," said McLean.
Marlow was released from prison on parole in August for grand theft. Last month he was charged with misdemeanor frequenting a place where drugs are given and had a hearing scheduled for Oct. 30.
The vehicle that Marlow allegedly stole is a 2016 blue Toyota Highlander with Idaho license plate K618613.
The U.S. Marshals Service is assisting PFPD with the case.
"Their job is to find people who are wanted, so if he is out of our area and reach, they can help investigate in another state," McLean said.
Marlow has ties to Washington, Bonner County and the Boise area, McLean said.
"He's been all over the map, so we're not sure where he could be," he said.
Marlow is described as white, 6-foot and 220 pounds with brown hairs and blue eyes.
