MOSES LAKE — The body of a missing Moses Lake man was recovered near Moses Lake on Thursday.

The body of 61-year-old Charles Taylor was located about 3:15 p.m. on Thursday about 300 yards from his residence in the area of Road 2 and Road O Northeast. Detectives with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office did not find any evidence of foul play. Taylor's body is currently in the care of the Grant County Coroner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed.

“The Grant County Sheriff’s Office sends prayers for peace to Chuck’s family and friends,” stated the sheriff’s office.

Taylor was last seen about 6 a.m. Oct. 7 walking from his home near Roads 2 and O Northeast, about 4 miles east of Moses Lake. He reportedly left his home without his phone, keys and wallet. Deputies and Search and Rescue Team members searched on the ground and air, via aircraft and drone, in the days following Taylor’s disappearance, but could not locate any evidence of his whereabouts.

On Oct. 9, the sheriff’s office stated they were not planning on conducting any further searches unless evidence was presented to give deputies the ability to “refocus” their search efforts.
