The town of Plains has welcomed a brand new shop opening right along the main street, offering a unique flavor of modern antiques that will suit any style of home.
Kim Burgess, who is also known for her amazing hair styling talents, opened her new little shop Hidden Charm recently.
Combining a love of antiques as well as a kind of living tribute to her mom and dad, Burgess has out done herself as she sets to ensure there is something for every home and every style of home in her new shop.
The name Hidden Charm most certainly reflects the feeling you get as you walk through the door.
Pieces are displayed like they were ready for a magazine photo shoot, small and large, nicely complementing the other, yet still standing out on its own.
Though the shop is a small space, it is easy to spend more time in the shop than what you first thought.
With the Fall Harves’ in full swing as Halloween is just around the corner and Thanksgiving not far off after that, Hidden Charm is certainly a shop you want to stop by and grab a season festive ornament or two to decorate your home with.
Hidden in all places, the shop will be known for more than it’s old antique stylings. As it states on the front window, Hidden Charm holds something for the vintage, farmhouse, cottage and more.
From gorgeous old antiques to spotting small intricate pieces of jewelry strategically placed amongst the many stunning pieces displayed.
“Just about everything in here is for sale,” said Burgess.
Though sprinkled around are some pieces large and small that aren’t up for sale rather they are tributes to her family. Pieces that hold special meaning, but bring much love and unique fashion to the little shop.
Using them as part of the overall feel, where you can discover something special for your home or a loved one’s home.
As you walk yourself around the shop, you continue to find more of the pieces that first seemed hidden amongst it all.
“I try and have something for everyone and every room. I truly feel there is something here for everyone no matter what their style is,” said Burgess.
As each season changes so will the ornaments that decorate the shop. Burgess said that as Thanksgiving comes up on the calendar there will be limited time to find your hidden charm to add to your own home decor before Christmas comes to town.
