When you grow up, the real Halloween horror show can be your finances. WalletHub recently conducted a nationally representative survey about Halloween spending and financial fears. How do you match up?
- Most people will spend $50 or less on Halloween (mostly on candy)
- 72 percent of people say data breaches are scarier than spiders
- 1 in 3 Americans are afraid they use their credit card too much. But not having a credit card scares 81 percent of people more than having one.
Unplanned emergencies and not having enough retirement savings are equally frightening to Americans—the two are tied for top financial fear. Filling out the rest of the list are job loss, fraud and poor credit.
