Lifetree Cafe looks at mental illness
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 7 years, 3 months AGO
The mysteries and meaning of mental illness will be explored at Lifetree Café on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 at 2 p.m.
The program, titled “Mysteries of Mental Illness: One Woman’s Struggle to Regain Her Life,” features a filmed interview with Karen McCracken, a woman diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and author of “Breaking Free From OCD”.
“It got to a point that I would have to read every sign I saw when I went somewhere,” McCracken said. “If I saw a sign in my peripheral vision, I thought something bad would happen if I didn’t stop to read it.”
During the program Lifetree participants will have the opportunity to discuss brushes with mental illness they, or people close to them, have experienced.
Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café is located at Tango Café in the Columbia Bank Building, 414 Church St., Sandpoint.
