Troy tops Anaconda for first volleyball win of season

TROY — Aurora Becquart led Troy in kills and blocks and Kaitlyn Downey had five of the team’s eight aces as the Trojans defeated Anaconda 26-24, 25-18, 25-19 on Saturday afternoon in volleyball play.
Becquart had six kills and four blocks.
“I was really proud of the girls,” Troy coach Mandy Love said.
“We got down a couple times and came back.”
Katelynn Talmadge’s block in the third set was the match-winning point for Troy (1-2).

RONAN — Ronan rallied after a first-set loss to top Polson 23-25, 27-25, 25-20, 27-25 in a highly contested Class A volleyball match.
Louetta Conko-Camel had 11 of Ronan’s 30 kills.
Kaelyn Smith finished with 16 kills for Polson, which also had 30 as a team.

LIBBY — Libby moved to 2-0 on the season by coasting by Bonners Ferry, Idaho, 25-16, 25-19, 25-21 in a nonconference outing.
Brooklyn Rainer and Jayden Winslow led Libby’s attack with 17 and 12 kills, respectively.
Nehki Sykes had six blocks for the Loggers.
