In response to the wildfires contained within Lincoln County’s borders, officials on Sunday opened an emergency operations center in Libby.
“The EOC is open to organize a central command and control facility for county personnel to carry out emergency preparedness and management activities due to the wildland fires,” Jennifer McCully, public health manager, said via Facebook Messenger. “Within the EOC is an information center that people can call to get evacuation, community resource and fire information.”
The information center’s phone number is 406-293-6295. Phone will be staffed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., McCully wrote, and messages can be left on voicemail if no one answers.
“Messages will be checked overnight and urgent calls will be returned immediately,” she said.
