“Child Find,” a free preschool screening service, will be held 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the Plummer Center at 263 Indian Head Rd. in Libby.

The event will provide professional screening of children ages 5 and under in the areas of cognitive skills, fine and gross motor skills, speech, language, hearing and vision.

Following the screening, you will be contacted with the results and further testing will be completed if needed. When testing is complete you will be informed if your child is eligible for Early Intervention Preschool or Special Education Services in the public schools.

Early Intervention Preschool is an individualized program that meets one to three days a week designed to provide services to children from 3-5 years of age who are developmentally delayed in any of the tested areas.

Speech and language therapy may be provided for children in preschool through high school grade levels even if they are not enrolled in public schools. If a child does not pass a Child Find screening, parents will be notified and a comprehensive assessment may be conducted to determine if the student qualifies for services in the public schools under Montana state criteria.

To make an appointment please call 406-293-8813 ext. 3 or 406-293-2700.
