Whitefish golfers finish another strong week on course

Two more first place finishes for the Lady Dog golfers have the team rolling mid-way through the season.

Whitefish picked up wins at the Corvallis Golf Meet last Tuesday and at the Ronan Invitational on Thursday.

For the Corvallis meet, senior Gracie Young picked up first place by just two strokes, posting a 90 to edge out Dillon’s Lindsey Huber.

Ella Shaw took fifth with a 109 and Megan Archibald eighth with 114.

The boys had a solid outing as well, taking second overall by one stroke. Whitefish finished with 363, behind Stevensville’s 342 and ahead of Frenchtown’s 364.

Cameron Kahle took third with 80 and Jace Cripe finished fifth, posting an 87.

Just two days later the girls handily won in Ronan, finishing with a score of 415 overall. Libby and Frenchtown rounded out the top three.

Shaw posted a 97 for fourth and Young a 101 for fifth. Archibald came in at seventh with a 104.

For the boys, Kahle shot an 82 for seventh. Libby’s Ryggs Johnston posted a 66 to finish nine shots ahead of the field.

Whitefish finished sixth as a team.

The Bulldogs head to Polson on Wednesday and Libby on Thursday. Both events begin at 10 a.m.
