The Pirate boys soccer squad opened their season with encouraging results as they swept their first pair of matches of the young season. At Frenchtown, the Pirates rallied to tie the game twice, then vaulted ahead with a pair of goals the final quarter segment of the contest.
Against visiting Loyola, the Pirates not only scored early, but often as they kept applying pressure at the visitor end of the field with volley after salvo until the twine was tickled at the back of the net. Alexis Guerrero, Robin Erickson and Michael Vergeront all scored braces (2 goals), while Mack Moderie, Bridger Wenzel, Alex Encizo and Erickson each dished out a pair of assists that set the table for their Pirate mates to dine on roasted ram.
Polson (2-0) will host visiting Eastern A contenders Billings Central and Laurel this weekend.
