Downtown Coeur d'Alene office building fills fast

The new Lakeside Suites building in the southwest corner of Seventh and Lakeside downtown is now fully occupied. The occupants are JL Design Build, Shine the Salon, SurfMyAds and Northwest Insurance Associates, the latter of which we detailed earlier.
JL Design Build is a design and build firm of licensed architects and builders and designed and built the new place.
Owner Jef Lemmon has an architecture degree from the University of Idaho and worked for Miller Stauffer Architects here for seven years. He started JL Design Build in 2012 and is on the Cd’A Design Review Commission. In Suite 720, his hours vary by appointment. Phone (208) 860-7215. Check www.jl-db.com.
Shine the Salon moves from 4th
Offering employees with a combined 92 years of experience, Shine the Salon is in Suite 724. The salon moved from 754 N. Fourth St. after nine years there.
Stylists are owner Anna Lombard, Jaclyn Church, Camille Schmidt and Coleen Hoffman. Joining them are nail technician Leslie Langley and skin-care specialist Callie Mohawk. They continue education with the latest styles and products. Hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone (208) 667-2500.

A combination of surfing and advertising, SurfMyAds develops and operates online shopping websites to help consumers save time and money and provide sales and traffic to online retailers. It offers new project development, international reach and premium marketing strategies.
Using www.promocodes,com, it’s an online marketing company with its team of software developers in Coeur d’Alene for seven years. With the recent growth in staff, it moved into the new larger space.
St. Joseph Clinic expands to Cd’A
The St. Joseph’s Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy Clinic has expanded from Post Falls to 2236 N. Merritt Creek Loop in Coeur d’Alene.
With Dr. Chad McCormick, hours in Cd’A are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays. A Sandpoint native, McCormick graduated from the University of Utah and is with Kootenai Health.

- After 33 years in business, Johnny and Carolyn Berry have retired and closed Wiggett’s Marketplace Antiques at 115 S. Fourth St. Watch for an auction date. Check www.wiggettsmarketplace.com.
- Watch for liquor stores moving to the east wing of the Fred Meyer building and the west wing of Prairie Shopping Center.
- Evans Brothers Coffee will be at 504 E. Sherman Ave. (behind Community Bank). Fuel Fitness & Nutrition has a new building opening in early October at Haycraft and Government Way. On Appleway watch for Firehouse Subs and Dairy Queen.
- The Front Porch will be where Sweet Pickin’s was on Government Way in Hayden. Hayden Lake Physical Therapy will be on Prairie Avenue. The Cd’A Kmart will close by Oct. 1 as one of 43 closing nation-wide by Sears Co.
- Future new hotels include a Staybridge Suites in Riverstone and a Fairfield Inn on Northwest Boulevard. The Shilo Inn on Appleway will change to Comfort Suites after a major remodel.
- Openings coming on Fourth Street include the Relic Moon offering piercing and body jewelry and the White Pine coffee place. Encore Shoes will come to Silver Lake Mall. Command Center will have a space in Sunset Village.
- Post Falls openings include Popeye’s (opening later this month), House of Cards Sports Bar & Grill where The Pit Stop was at 830 N. Spokane St. and Riverstone Dental Care on Mullan Avenue.
- Fast Cash 4 Cards and Massage Envy businesses will be in Ironwood Square. A new Asian eatery will be where the Kynrede Cafe was removed in Hayden. Watch for El Taco Loco off Canfield Avenue, EyeGuys Optical in Hayden, Rumour Boutique expanding on Government Way and Vine & Olive restaurant in Riverstone.
- Should it grammatically be “We live in North Idaho” or “We live in Northern Idaho?” Either is OK. Usually capitalize a region and lowercase a direction. It’s interesting that we say “back East” and not “back West” and “out West” and not “out East.”
- Each man in a Los Angeles police lineup was asked to yell “Give me all your money or I’ll shoot!” The primary suspect shouted, “That’s not what I said!”
