CAIRNS, Australia — Columbia Falls mountain biker Rose Grant finished 33rd at the UCI women’s elite cross country Olympic world championships on Saturday, finishing nearly 11 minutes back of the overall winner.
Grant started 41st out of 55 riders from 29 different countries. Early on, she fell off the pace of eventual champion Jolanda Neff of Switzerland, but a strong kick helped her gain a spot in the final lap to finish in 1 hour, 38 minutes, 12 seconds.
