BONNERS FERRY — Neon signs lit up the window behind the wooden bar, etched with the marks of previous visitors, as the din of conversation and laughter filled the air at the Moyie Store and Bar on Saturday, Sept. 9, during the Customer Appreciation Celebration.

Comedians Phillip Kopczynski and Michael Glatzmaier, from Spokane, Wash., brought the house to laughter with their jokes as patrons enjoyed food, drink, and each other’s company.

Dave Young, owner of the Moyie Store and Bar and Liberty Gas Station, hosted the celebration to thank the communities for their support over the past several years.

“My staff and I appreciate the support of the community and would like to say thank you,” said Young.

They served pulled pork, smoked corned beef, smoked brisket, and smoked chicken paired with sides. There was a pool tournament, beer pong tournament, and live music from the Wastin’ Time Band to close the evening.

The Moyie Store has been a hub for the rural community, providing food from the restaurant, groceries, convenience store items, and friendly service to those who reside in or visit Moyie Springs.

The patrons seemed to appreciate the Customer Appreciation Day showcased by their boisterous attitudes, laughter, and friendly interactions with each other. With the history of the store and the surrounding area, accompanied by the close knit community, the Moyie Store is the place to meet.
