Greg Olson stood strumming his guitar while two mountain goats stood beside him dancing on a recent day at Depot Park.
“There are some folks in Whitefish that can help us out you see,” he crooned. “When it comes to heartfelt giving.”
“The goal of the foundations is to make our dreams come true,” he sang to the crowd. “Support the Great Fish Challenge and watch our dreams come true.”
Olson, representing the Glacier Conservancy, along with the help of some friends in costume, sang the jingle about the Whitefish Community Foundation and its Great Fish Challenge during the foundation’s recent nonprofit fair event.
Five nonprofit groups are competing in the foundation’s Jingle Challenge as part of this year’s Great Fish Challenge. To determine the winner of the jingle competition, voting is through Friday, Sept. 22 at www.greatfishchallenge.org.
The Glacier Conservancy’s jingle is titled “Watch Our Dreams Come True.” The Abbie Shelter’s entry is “Helping Our Community to Run,” the Samaritan House entered “Whitefish Community Foundation,” the North Valley Music School created “Pick. Click. Give.” and the Whitefish Education Foundation submitted “Millions to the Fish.”
The third annual Great Fish Community Challenge wrapped up its 10-week giving campaign last week featuring 45 nonprofits. The Jingle Challenge was new to this year’s Great Fish and the winner will be awarded a $1,000 grant at the Great Fish grant awards presentation on Oct. 12.
The finalists preformed their jingles for the audience at the Fish 5K Color Run and Nonprofit Fair, but they also recorded them for the website so folks can go to the site, listen and vote.
