Libby junior Ryggs Johnston won again, this time at his home course, running away with the Cabinet View Invitational on Tuesday.

“This golf season we have gone from 94° to 34° in just two weeks,” Libby Golf Coach Dann Rohrer said via email. “Now that the smoke (from wildfires) has cleared, rain is the challenge. Today the seven teams that participated in the Libby Invitational Golf Tournament showed great heart and determination under very difficult conditions.”

Johnston scored a 6-under-par 66 to lead the Loggers to a first place team score of 337.

“Ryggs Johnston continues to play the game at a different level,” Rohrer wrote. “(And) Libby placed four boys and four girls to take eight of the 20 top ten spots. Great tournament, Loggers.”
