Whitefish cross country is rolling heading into the final stretch of the season, with the girls taking first at the Thompson Falls Invitational last week.

Strong running by Jessica Henson, Ella Greenberg, Katie Arterburn and Braya Hobson pushed Whitefish ahead of Frenchtown and Columbia Falls for first place.

Henson finished seventh (21:29.04), Greenberg eighth (21:38.48), Arterburn ninth (21:47.56) and Hobson 15th (22:17.35) for the Lady Dogs.

Bigfork’s Anya Young took first individually with the only girls sub-20 minute time, 19:58.83.

The boys just missed out on a top three finish, falling one point short of Eureka for fourth place overall.

Frenchtown and Columbia Falls took first and second.

Miles Vrentas took ninth (18:09.59) and Bridger Gaertner 15th (18:19.32) for the Bulldogs.

This week Whitefish hosted its own invite at Whitefish Lake Golf Club on Tuesday after presstime.

On Saturday they’ll head down to Missoula for the Mountain West Invite before competing in Browning on Monday.
