Whitefish High School is seeking school, community and business groups to participate in rescheduled homecoming activities Oct. 5-6.
Festivities were previously canceled because of recent school closures due to cyber threats.
A parade, dance, window-decorating contest, dress-up days and sports games are on the roster of activities to “celebrate Bulldog pride and our incredible, resilient students and community.”
The public is invited to the homecoming parade, which will be held at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6. The parade route will start on Pine Street and end at the high school. Groups wishing to enter a float in homecoming parade must submit an entry form by noon Oct. 3 at Whitefish High School or email them to estradad@whitefishschools.org. Entrants should incorporate the school colors green and gold and the school’s bulldog mascot into floats. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries.
Local businesses are also asked to participate in a window-decorating contest and will receive a letter explaining the competition. The goal is to see business windows decked out in school colors and marquees displaying supportive messages.
Homecoming athletic events will kick off with boys soccer at 3 p.m. and girls soccer at 5 p.m. on Oct. 5 at Smith Fields. Volleyball is set to begin at 7:15 p.m. at the high school.
The football game is scheduled at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at Memorial Field. Following the football game, Whitefish High School students are invited to attend the homecoming dance at the high school.
