Tackett, a 6-foot senior post from Coeur d’Alene High, was named to the Frontier Conference All-Academic team, the league announced. Tackett finished the season with 259 points (8.9 per game) and 115 rebounds (four per game) and had 32 steals and 24 blocked shots for the Warriors, who finished 18-13. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete needs to be at least a sophomore in class standing and maintained a 3.0 grade-point average.
Keelie Lawler
Montana Tech basketball
Lawler, a 5-10 guard from Timberlake High in Spirit Lake, transferred to NAIA Montana Tech of Butte from Division II Western State in Colorado. Lawler started in seven of 15 games, averaging 5.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game at Western State. She will have three years of eligibility remaining. “We are excited Keelie is going to be an Oredigger,” Montana Tech coach Carly Sanon said. “She is the perfect fit at Montana Tech. She is a great student, very talented basketball player and well-rounded person. Keelie is a knock down shooter and can score from anywhere on the court.”
Josie Brown
Washington State track and field
Brown, a junior from Coeur d’Alene, was named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Scholar-Athlete team, executive director Al Beaird announced. To be selected, a student must have a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore academically, completed one full academic year at the insititution prior to the nomination, and must have competed in 50 percent or more of the institution’s competition. Brown has a 3.85 grade point average.
Jake Finney
Washington State track and field
Finney, a junior who competed at Lake City High, was was named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Scholar-Athlete team. Finney has a 3.95 grade point average.
