The upcoming Plains Clean Up Day is in need of volunteer organizers to help with beautification projects in town.

Mayor Danny Rowan says there is lots to do for the upcoming local event.

“We have a lot of community groups ready to lend a hand,” he said.

Those who step up to help out will be in charge of coordinating the different cleanups.

The Plains Clean Up Day will take place before the annual Plains Day.

“We get a lot of tourists come through the spring and summer months, so we want to put our best foot forward and encourage them to stay a little longer,” said Rowan.

The cleanup will also help those in the community who may find it difficult to clean up yards due to disability or other ailments.

Those who wish to volunteer can stop by Plains City Hall for further information.
