Lake Pend Oreille High School Students in Brenda Woodwards forestry class are branching out having passed their compass reading and pacing proficiency unit. The students are preparing for the Idaho State Forestry Contest in May. This is their fifth skill of ten required areas including log scaling, timber cruising, tree and native plant identification, map reading, tool identification, soil and water quality, tree health, silviculture and noxious weeds.
