Rosendale hosting Invest in Montana events

Montana State Auditor Matt Rosendale is making stops in Libby, Kalispell and Polson this week on his “Invest in Montana” circuit.
The event is aimed at providing local officials and entrepreneurs a place to learn more about opportunities to raise private investments for the business sector.
Kyle Schmauch, a spokesperson for Rosendale, said they had reached out to local chambers of commerce and representatives from Montana West Economic Development, a local economic development agency, to help spread the word about the event.
He said they had also let all the area breweries and distilleries know, because it was common for businesses in that sector to raise private money to fund new businesses or expansions.
The purpose is to create a dialogue with business leaders, economic development organizations, business incubators and community leaders to promote investment in Montana and support businesses as they start up and/or grow their existing operations,” an event description reads.
It will include presentations from Rosendale’s staff about capital formation through equity and debt offerings, as well as exemptions to securities registration.
Rosendale will be in Thompson Falls on Thursday morning before heading to Libby for a lunchtime event from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Venture Inn.
From there, he will travel to Kalispell where he will hold the event from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Syke’s downtown.
Friday morning, Rosendale will appear in Eureka from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Creative Arts Center on First Avenue West. From there, he will travel to Polson and appear from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel.
“We’re putting on a lot of miles in a week basically covering the entire western half of the state,” Schmauch said.
The event will eventually be held in 19 different towns across Montana.
Rosendale is one of a handful of Republicans running for the GOP nomination to challenge U.S. Sen. Jon Tester in 2018. The primary is June 5.
A list of the events throughout western Montana, including the stops in Flathead, Lake and Lincoln counties, can be found at http://csimt.gov/events/.
