YAKIMA — There was no containing Moses Lake in its doubleheader at Davis.

The Chiefs remained unbeaten in Columbia Basin Big Nine play with a pair of blowout wins, 15-0 and 19-1.

Moses Lake’s lineup only got to Davis starter Taylor Yates a couple times in Game 1, but it was more than enough. Moses Lake scored six runs in the third inning and nine runs in the fifth inning.

Madison Olson began her series against Davis driving in five runs on Tuesday. The freshman third baseman continued to feast on the Pirates with four RBI and two runs scored.

Gina Skinner, Brooke Richardson and Gabi Rios joined Olson with multi-RBI games. Savannah Ashley pitched a complete game two-hitter with nine strikeouts.

Reigning CBBN Player of the Year Richardson dominated the night cap. Richardson went 4-for-4 with four RBI and four runs. Harley Raymond also had four RBI.

Gina Skinner got the nod in the second game, pitching a complete game with six strikeouts. Skinner helped her own cause at the plate, finishing with two and two runs batted in.

The Chiefs led 13-1 after two innings.

Selah 4-19, Ephrata 1-14

SELAH — Ephrata could not get over the hump against perennial power Selah, losing twice 4-1 and 19-14.

The Tigers had the Vikings on the ropes in Game 2, leading 8-4 in the middle of the fourth inning. However, Selah responded with 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth to take command.

Rylee Peters drove in three runs and freshman Crystal Vela hit a home run. What’s more, Jocelyn Eisen was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Soap Lake 15-1, Tonasket 10-13

TONASKET — Soap Lake broke out the bats in Game 1 to beat Tonasket 15-10.

Eryn Allen, Mariel Montenegro and Juliette Cuevas knocked in three runs each. Allen struck out 10 in seven innings.

Soap Lake could not solve Tonasket’s pitching in the second game and lost 13-1. Tonasket scored nine runs in the fourth inning to pull away.

BURBANK — Warden could not get things to align in two SCAC East losses at Columbia, 5-3 and 6-5.

The Cougars pounded out 10 hits in the opener, but three errors proved to be costly. The Coyotes scored four of their five runs in the third inning.

Bryce Martinez finished with three hits and an RBI. Ryan Arredondo struck out seven in four innings.

Warden committed five errors in Game 2 as Columbia was able to score four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to complete the sweep.

Freshman starter Julian Egia tossed five innings with five strikeouts. Martinez had two hits and two RBI.

Ephrata 2-8, Prosser 1-2

EPHRATA — Ephrata picked up a pair of league wins against Prosser 2-1 and 8-2.

The Tigers managed just two hits — both by Zac Berryman — in the opener. Berryman and Ethan Etter also drove in one run each.

Othello 13-8, Wapato 0-0

OTHELLO — Othello shut out Wapato twice, 13-0 and 8-0, to stay in the Central Washington Athletic Conference hunt.

Despite six errors, Othello kept Wapato off the scoreboard in Game 1. Trey Garza had three hits and two RBI.

Othello raked 13 hits in the second game, steadily building its lead throughout. Gage Pruneda drove in two runs.

Grandview 6-4, Quincy 4-3

GRANDVIEW — Quincy remains in search of its first win after falling at Grandview 6-4 and 4-3.

The Greyhounds scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 1 to break a 4-4 tie.

Grandview scored the go-ahead run of Game 2 in the sixth inning.

Royal 3-14, Kiona-Benton 4-4

BENTON CITY — Royal salvaged a split with Kiona-Benton, taking the second game 14-4 after losing 4-3.

JC Worsham, Sawyer Jenks and Carter Dorsing drove in one run apiece in the opener.

The Knights broke open the second game after scoring five runs in the sixth inning. Jenks and Kevin Reyes had three RBI each.

EAST WENATCHEE — Moses Lake lost to first-place Eastmont 6-2.

Flavio Espinoza and Johan Espinoza scored two goals apiece for the Wildcats.

Royal 4, Kiona-Benton 0

BENTON CITY — University of Washington commit Michael Rojas recorded a hat trick and Royal breezed by Kiona-Benton 4-0.

Rojas scored twice in the first half and finished his hat trick in the 80th minute.

Miguel Torres put the Knights up 3-0 in the 73rd minute.

Big Bend 10-13, Treasure Valley 2-7

ONTARIO, Ore. — Big Bend, now ranked eighth in the NWAC coaches poll, swept Treasure Valley 10-2 and 13-7.

In the opener, Trevor Luckey and Sammuel Fagerness doubled twice. Fagerness also drove in four runs.

Tyson Yamane pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Big Bend outscored Treasure Valley by six runs over the final four innings in the second game. Nathaniel English tripled and had three RBI.

Moses Lake’s Cade Tunstall earned the win in two innings of relief duty.

College softball

North Idaho 5-20, Big Bend 4-2

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Big Bend was swept by North Idaho 5-4 and 20-2.

NIC snuck out the opener by scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Devinne Amesquita drew a bases loaded walk and Ashlyn Winn hit a walk-off single.

In Game 2, the Cardinals led 9-0 after two inning. Big Bend’s Aubree Barney doubled and was 2-for-3.

Spokane 11-19, Big Bend 3-21

SPOKANE — Big Bend won a Game 2 slugfest to split with Spokane.

The Vikings lost the first game 11-3 before winning the second 21-19.

Big Bend racked up 19 hits and scored 10 runs in the sixth inning.
