FVCC to offer Maker Skills course

Flathead Valley Community College will introduce a new introductory class for those interested in learning design and creation of electro-mechanics this fall.
The Introduction to Maker Skills course is a three-credit class that combines lectures, labs and hands-on experience with 3D design and printing, bench-top milling machines, electronics and micro-controllers.
Under the instruction of advanced manufacturing instructor Dan Leatzow and math, physics and engineering instructor Tim Price, students will work together to design, build and test a project over the course of 15 weeks.
The class is scheduled from 3-5:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Aug. 29 and concluding Dec. 17.
Students must first be admitted to FVCC for the fall 2018 semester before registering for the class.
The deadline to apply for admission is Aug. 22.
