Local athletes shine at Dave Trip Invitational

The Dave Trip Invitational hosted by Hot Springs was held in Polson on Friday, April 13.

Both St. Regis and Superior/Alberton teams were shining despite the cold, rainy day. St. Regis’ Madison Kelly took top honors in the 1600 meter race with a time of 6:15.11. In the 800 meter race, Clark Fork Mountain Cat Jesse Shaske took first place with a time of 2:20.79 and teammate Hailey Kelly topped the charts in javelin with a throw of 123-11 while teammate Bailey Milender placed first in the 400 meter with 1:19.90.

Tiger Ian Ferris tied for third place in the 100 meter race with Fairfield’s Ryder Meyer with a time of 11.71. Cat Trey Green placed tenth with 12.33 and Margaret Parkin came in eleventh with 14.37. In the 200 meter dash, Ferris placed second with 24.30; Cat Sophia Krutilla placed fourth with 29.29 and Tiger, Emma Hill placed 12th with 30.99 while Cat Michael Parkin placed seventh with 25.43.

In the 400 meter Cat, Gerald Peterson placed second with 58.70 and Daniel Merino placed 12th with 1:03.75. In the 800 meter, Isaiah Kovalsky placed sixth with 2:32.27. Milender placed sixth in the 100 meter hurdles with 19.22 and Shaske placed third in the 1600 meter with 5:12.95. In the 300 meter hurdles, Milender placed eight with 1:00.48. Also in the 300m hurdles, Kovalsky placed eighth with 51.12.

In the 4x100 relay, the Cats team placed fifth with a time of 49.68 with Gerald Peterson, Trey Geen, Carson Callison and Jesse Shaske. The team also placed third in the 4x400 relay with 4:06.32. The other Cats team made up of Brian Mask, Isaiah Kovalsky, Trey Green, and Michael Parkin placed seventh with 4:39.04.

In shot put, Margaret Parkin was in seventh place with 27-04.50 and St. Regis, Anna Sanford placed ninth with 24-11.50. Sanford also placed fourth in Discus with 84-00.

In Javelin, Kathryn Parkin placed sixth with 86-06.50 and in shot put, Trey Green was in second with 40-06.50, and Michael Spence took fifth with 35-02. In discus Jack Mitchell took sixth with 92-02, Green took seventh with 91-11 and Spence eighth with 90-09.

In pole vault, Madison Mask placed second with 7-06 and Emma Hill placed fourth in long jump with 14-06.75. In triple jump, Madison Kelly placed seventh with 31-05 and Emma Hill placed eighth with 31-04.75. In javelin, Joseph Cantrell placed eighth with 114-07.50 and in high jump, Andrew Sanford tied for fourth place with Fairfield, Levi Gibson with 5-06. Ian Ferris placed fifth in triple jump with 37-02.75.
