Three vie for Libby City Council opening

Three Libby residents have applied to fill the Libby City Council seat left vacant by the resignation of Gary Armstrong that was effective March 31.
D.C. Orr, William Holcomb and Rob Dufficy submitted their applications by the 5 p.m. April 13 deadline, City Administrator Jim Hammons said via email.
Orr and Holcomb recently applied twice for the opening created by April Ford’s resignation in January. Council members chose Hugh Taylor, who also had applied twice in a process that turned controversial when no one was nominated in a first round of applications and interviews.
Dufficy applied once — during the second round — to fill Ford’s empty seat.
The three applicants will be interviewed at a special meeting of the City Council set for 6 p.m. Wednesday. The City Council will then vote whether to nominate someone to fill the opening.
