Lady Vikes' tracksters emerge at Tripp Invite

Charlo High School girl’s track star Tyrah Hammond made a declarative statement in only the Lady Vikings second race of the season Friday afternoon at the Dave Tripp Memorial meet at Polson High School.

Hammond finished in the top-5 of five events at Tripp and three individual events including the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and the pole vault.

Hammond was also a member of two relay teams that had a high-level of success at Tripp.

The 4X100 relay team that consisted of Kaitlin Cox, Bella Hawk, Tyrah Hammond and Carlee Fryberger, that placed first recording a time of 53.71 seconds.

Hammond was also a member of the 4X400 relay team that placed first with a time of 4 minutes, 30.78 seconds. The team had Fryberger, Liev Smith and Destiny Manuel. Hammond finished second in the pole vault, and cleared 7 feet, 6 inches.

Hammond was joined by freshman Carlee Fryberger, who elevated her own expectations by excelling in only her second-ever varsity meet.

Fryberger captured first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.07 seconds, a personal record and finished second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.08 seconds, another personal record.

Fryberger finished ahead of her junior teammate Kaitlin Cox, which is perhaps indicative of Fryberger’s potential. Cox placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of of 17.16 seconds and third in the 300-meter dash with a time of 53.76.

Cox placed first in the triple jump levitating to a distance of 34 feet, 00.75 inches and Fryberger placed second with a jump of 34 feet.

Fryberger, Cox, Hammond and Hawk utilized their speed in the 4X100 and 4X400 relay. This showcased they could be a legitimate threat to capture hardware recording times of 53.71 in the 4X100 and 4 minutes, 30.78 seconds in the 4X400 relay.

Kira McPhail placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1 minutes, 10.23 seconds and Liev Smith placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 11.30 seconds.

Manual also placed fourth in the 800-meter recording a time of 3 minutes, 9.98 seconds.

Allie Delaney recorded a throw of 29 feet, 7 inches, placing fourth in shot put. Smith PRed with a throw of 104 feet, 9.50 inches. Cox also finished fourth in the high jump leaping to a distance of 4 feet, 6 inches and McPhail finished fifth with a distance of 4 feet, 4 inches.

Lady Vikes have six top-5 finishers at Florence-Darby

The Charlo Lady Vikings relay team braved the elements and shined in the first meet of the year at Florence-Darby.

The 4X100 relay team that consists of Kaitlin Cox, Bella Hawk, Tyrah Hammond and Carlee Fryberger finished second recording a time of 52.61 seconds and 4X400 relay with a time of 4 minutes, 29.18 seconds that consists of Fryberger, Smith, Manual and Hammond.

Hammond finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with 13.49 seconds, McPhail recorded a time of 1 minutes, 8.27 seconds to finish fourth.

Cox recorded a time of 17.35 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and also finished fourth in the triple jump clearing a distance of 30 feet, 10.25 inches.
