Auditions for Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Aladdin” will be held on Monday, April 23, 3:30 to 5:30 pm, at Farmin-Stidwell Elementary (1626 Spruce Street) in the gymnasium, followed by the first rehearsal from 6 to 8.

There are roles available for students in grades K-12. Students must be at least 5 years old to participate. Approximately 50-60 local students will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Directors. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Students wishing to audition should arrive by the scheduled starting time and plan to stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 30 minutes after the auditions.

It is a group audition – no advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts. The children should just be ready to come and have a good time! During the audition, two to four Assistant Directors, ages 10 and older, are selected to help teach and direct the show early in the week and take on technical responsibilities at performance time.

Rehearsal times will be announced at the auditions. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for that entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role.

The public performances of MCT’s “Aladdin” will be held at the Panida Theater (300 North First in Sandpoint) on Saturday, April 28, at 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 PM. Ticket prices are kept low to ensure the best possible attendance by parents, family, friends and the community-at-large. Adult tickets are $15 (two for $20), youth under 18 are $5 per performance.

Tickets are available now at the POAC office, 334 N. First Avenue, Eve’s Leaves (326 N. First Ave), Eichardt’s Pub (212 Cedar Street), Winter Ridge Natural Foods Market (701 Lake Street) and online at Artinsandpoint.org, Panida.org or at the box office on the day of the performance.

Missoula Children’s Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This coming year nearly 50,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, community, neighbors and teachers! The residency in Sandpoint is made possible by the Pend Oreille Arts Council and local businesses, with funding in part by the Idaho Community Foundation and other private foundations.
