Mission Valley tracksters excel at Kalispell Mini-Invite

The Polson boys and girls cross country team continued to excel in the distance events at the Kalispell Mini-Invite. They continued that trend en route to several top 5 finishes for both the Lady Pirates and Pirates Tuesday at Legends Stadium.
Polson Lady Pirate star Bea Frissell placed second in the 800-meter relay recording a time of 2 minutes, 26.87 seconds.
Frissell finished third in the 1600 and lost to two of the top distance runners in the state of Montana, including Glacier’s Annie Hill, one of the top runners in the entire country. Frissell finished third recording a time of 5 minutes, 30.79 seconds and Naima Crowl finished behind Frissell with a time of 5 minutes, 48.21 seconds.
Crowl and Molly Sitter excelled in the 3200-meter relay. Crowl placed second recording a time of 12 minutes, 16.44 seconds and Sitter finished fifth with a time of 12 minutes, 37.80 seconds.
Stewart, Lanier excel at Mini-Invite
Quin Stewart is one of the up-and-coming cross country runners for the Pirates and he is showcasing his skill to run on the track.
Stewart had two top 5 finishes including placing fourth in the 800-meter relay recording a time of 2 minutes, 10.07 seconds and placed fifth in the 1600-meter dash with a time of 4 minutes, 56.49 seconds.
Connor Lanier also had two top 5 finishes. Lanier placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.94 seconds and third in the triple jump leaping to a distance of 39 feet, 5.50 inches.
Chief’s Normandeau finishes in the top 5 at MCPS
Ronan High School runner James Normandeau finished in the top 5 in the 800-meter dash recording a time of 2 minutes, 5.17 seconds at the Missoula County Public School Invitational Saturday at MCPS Stadium in Missoula.
