Brothers Terry Fennessy and Timothy Fennessy — the former a retired Air Force and FedEx pilot, the latter a superior court judge — have been chosen for the Libby High School Distinguished Graduate Hall of Fame.

They will be inducted during the Libby High School National Honor Society induction ceremony at the Libby Memorial Events Center on Monday, April 23. The event starts at 7 p.m.

Terence Fennessy, who resides near Helena in Clancy with his wife Tiina, attended Libby High School from 1970 to 1973. A letterman in tennis and skiing, he served on student council for three years, was student body vice president his senior year, and was a member of the National Honor Society. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1977 from the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in astronautical engineering. Following an Air Force career that saw him serve as a pilot, flight instructor, flight commander and mission commander, he worked 17 years for Federal Express Corporation until his retirement in 2017. He has served on the Board of Directors of First Montana Bank since 2015.

Timothy Fennessy, who resides in Spokane, Washington, attended Libby High School from 1972 to 1975. He participated in cross country, basketball and tennis throughout, and was class president of his sophomore and junior classes. He attended Gonzaga University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1979. Before graduating he served as president of the Associated Students of Gonzaga University; after graduation he spent a year working for Hanley and Crismore Logging companies in Libby before returning to Gonzaga with a full scholarship and earning his Juris Doctorate degree in 1983. He was a litigation lawyer for more than 30 years before being elected to the Spokane County Superior Court in November of 2016. He also serves as President of the Board of Advisors for Gonzaga’s Law School and as a University Regent. He has two children with his wife, Nelou.

Induction into the Libby High School Graduate Hall of Fame honors alumni who have distinguished themselves during their lives and careers and has been bestowed upon one to three students annually since 1984.
