GRAND COULEE — A helpful tip lead to a raid at a Grand Coulee home last week that landed two people in jail.

Early Friday morning members of Grant County’s Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET), the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team (TRT) and Grand Coulee officers raided a residence in the 200 block of Dill Avenue, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. The raid was the end result of a four-month investigation that was spurred by a complaint from a citizen regarding “suspicious activity” at the Dill Avenue home.

“We rely on the partnerships with citizens so we can focus on possible criminal activity, and through those partnerships, we help make our communities safer,” Sheriff Tom Jones stated.

INET detectives reportedly made numerous controlled drug buys from people at the home, which gave them the probable cause they needed to obtain a search warrant.

Friday’s raid at the home yielded methamphetamine, heroin, scales and packaging materials. Michael Capshaw, 36, was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail for suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to deliver. Angelette Obendorf, 38, was taken into custody at the home on an unrelated warrant she had out for her arrest.

The sheriff’s office reports the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
