Libby Elementary School and Kootenai Valley Head Start invite upcoming kindergarten families to an open house on May 1 and registration the following day.

The open house is 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1. Parents will be able to pick up registration packets for registration on Wednesday; meet teachers and principals; tour Libby Elementary School and ask questions; and learn what your child’s day will look like. Students will be given a free “Class of 2031” T-shirt from GEAR-UP.

Registration and readiness testing will be held on Wednesday, May 2 for all students preparing to enter kindergarten this fall. (Students attending Plummer do not need to be tested at LES.) Registration will be by appointment from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. (call 406-293-2763 to schedule), and walk-ins will be accepted 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Parents need to bring to registration up-to-date immunization records (your health care provider can update your records and we will have an immunization clinic available at registration); State-certified birth certificate (not the hospital certificate); names and phone numbers of emergency contacts; and your soon-to-be kindergartener (for readiness testing).

Libby Elementary School is at 101 Ski Rd. in Libby. For more information call 406- 293-2763.
