Asper, a senior from Lake City High, broke the school record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:10.61 at the Mt. Sac Relays last weekend. The previous record was by Katie Mahoney with 2:10.96 from 2016. Asper had also broken the school record in the 800 during the indoor season at the Husky Classic on Feb. 10 with a time of 2:11.21.

Washington State golf

In his final college tourney, the senior from Lakeland High shot a 1-under-par 71 on Wednesday and finished tied for 23rd with a 283 at the Pac-12 men’s golf championships at Rolling Hills Estates, Calif. The Cougars finished seventh, which tied for their best finish at the Pac-12 Championships. WSU finished with a score of 1412 (-8) overall. USC won with a 1,389.
