BONNERS FERRY — The Badger softball team hosted Kellogg on April 19 and earned a 3-0 win, improving its record to 10-1 overall for the season.

Maecie Lierman had two singles, followed by her teammates Kassy Skeen, Kadi Bateman, Jorryn Bennett, Jadyn Bennett, and Tori Burt with singles.

Kadi Bateman dominated on the mound, finishing the game with 19 strikeouts.

It was also senior night for seniors Kadi Bateman, Kassy Skeen, Jayden Bennett, Jorryn Bennett and Tori Burt, a group that helped Bonners Ferry win the state 3A title last season.

“This group of girls have led the Badgers in making school history every year,” said coach Tomi Bateman.

The seniors helped their team win districts and advance to state in their freshman year, won the Intermountain League their sophomore year, and bringing home the district title for the second year in the school’s history and going to state for the third consecutive year in their junior year.

“It goes without saying that these girls will be greatly missed,” said Bateman. “It has been my pleasure to coach these athletes and watch them grow and develop over the years.”
