Vet Center Thrift opens on Government Way

Offering services to military veterans through proceeds from its sales and donations, Vet Center Thrift has opened at 7736 N. Government Way. The location was the Music City Guitar Stop.
It also offers a place for veterans to meet and have coffee together and as a food pantry for veterans in need.
Donations and sales include usable furniture, household goods, gently used clothing and shoes, books, sports equipment, tools, working appliances in good condition and art and decorative items. All donations are tax deductible.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Volunteers are also needed. Phone 208-691-6960. Check www.vetcenter.org.
Cloud Nine Bridal expands downtown
One-of-a-kind styling is the specialty of Cloud Nine Bridal, which has expanded to include the space formerly occupied by Chamira Fashion in The Resort Plaza Shops downtown.
The inventory includes everything for the bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride, flower girl dresses and accessories. They also offer in-house alterations by Sew Busy.
The staff includes Tara Ovnicek (owner), Lisa Seher (owner, designer, alterations), Royce Grassl (sales, designer, alterations) and Kaia Cannon (marketing and sales).

Moving from 157 W. Hayden Ave. to 9830 Government Way (Suites 1 and 2), Edward Jones offers financial services for investments with individuals and businesses.

- A new Fu-Ki Japanese Steakhouse is under construction where the Kynrede Cafe was at 8885 N. Government Way in Hayden. And a new Human Bean coffee place is under construction behind ICCU in Hayden.
- Watch for a new Domino’s Pizza in Post Falls. Medicine Man will open its pharmacy in the Athol Super 1 on May 7.
- New places coming in Riverbend Commerce Park (west side of Post Falls) include North Idaho Gun & Pawn, Cloud Vapor, Shooters Supply and Two Knights Home Brew.
- Incrediburger & Eggs will build a new place next to Firehouse Subs on Appleway. And Thomas Hammer Coffee will join the Firehouse Subs building. Idaho Central Credit Union will be across the street.
- New places downtown will be Live For Blu fine art at 505 E. Sherman and The NYC Piano Bar at 313 E. Sherman. Zip’s Drive-In is at 715 E. Sherman. Camera Corral will move in June from downtown to Harborview Plaza on Northwest Boulevard. Commercial Printing has sold its business and building at 504 Lakeside Ave. to separate buyers. Details soon.
- Honey Co. restaurant will open in late May where The Cellar was downtown on Sherman. The Honey Eatery will be on the main floor, and the Honey Social Club will be below.
- Ellenbecker Eye Clinic will move this summer from 2140 Riverstone Drive to nearby 2020.
- Renovation is underway at the former Kelly’s Pub building at 726 N. Fourth St. It will be a breakfast-lunch eatery called Ten/6.
- Hotel news: The Shilo Inn is being remodeled on Appleway and will become a Comfort Suites with 138 rooms, an indoor pool and a meeting room for 50 people. Staybridge Suites hotel is under construction in Riverstone with a $10 million building permit.
- A cartoonist was found dead in his home. Details are sketchy.
