William Steven “Steve” Lawson was born in Eugene, Ore., on Dec. 23, 1950, and passed away in Colorado Springs, Colo., on June 24, 2018. He spent his last week at home with hospice care, enjoying being surrounded by family and visited by close friends. Steve had a wonderful sense of humor that lightened the more serious moments with smiles and laughter.
Steve spent his childhood years in Eugene, his teenage years in Sandpoint, Idaho, and then served his country in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1970s.
Steve married, had three children, and worked mostly in the Pacific Northwest.
In later years, Steve’s work with residential apartment communities took him to Colorado Springs, where he met his current wife, Marilyn, in 1992, and then to Phoenix, Ariz. When Steve became ill, he and his wife Marilyn moved back to Colorado Springs for the last five years of his life.
Steve was predeceased by his parents, Bertha Hatfield Lawson and William Lawson of Sandpoint. He is greatly missed by his surviving family, his wife, Marilyn Eason Lawson of Colorado Springs; five siblings, Don Walline of Eugene, John Lawson of Rathdrum, Idaho, Stuart Lawson of Sandpoint, Debra Swan of Sandpoint, and Gypsy Ackerman of Willamina, Ore.; three children, Alisha Lawson Tinseth and husband, Lance, of Denver, Colo., Todd Lawson and wife Evie of Seattle, Wash., and Shawn Lawson and wife HyunJa of San Antonio, Texas; and five grandchildren, Grayson, Keelan, and Jaden Tinseth; and Cameron and Emmalyn Lawson.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held in Colorado Springs at a later date.
