Bestwick finishes top of leader board in Big Mountain Run

Ninety-four runners competed in the 36th Annual Big Mountain Run on Saturday.

The race begins at the Danny On Trailhead in the Upper Village near the Hellroaring Saloon and participants run or hike 3.8 miles with 2,434 feet in elevation gain to the summit of Big Mountain.

Earning King of the Mountain was Mike Bestwick with a time of 40:54. Queen of the Mountain went to Leah Handelman with a time of 46:32.

Prince was Finn Davidson, 14, finishing at 48:24. Princess was Madelaine Jellison, 13, with a time of 53:09.

For Birthday Club winners, men must beat their age and women must beat their age plus 10 minutes. Birthday Club winners included Paul DeWitt, Franz Ingelfinger, Jason Michel, Tor Gudmundsen, Vonda Garcia, Kelly O’Brien, Paul Conrad, Michelle Weiler, George Shyrock, Steven Pleasants, John Shyrock, Russell Mallams, Mike Muldown, Cameron Blake, Jan Metzmaker and Ruth Neff.

Rehberg to attend rally for Jesus statue
