Upcoming Libby chamber events

The Libby Area Chamber of Commerce is holding two upcoming events.

The August general meeting and lunch starts at noon Wednesday, Aug. 8 at The Shed at 36476 Highway 2 in Libby. The guest speaker is Penny Kyes of Libby Volunteer Ambulance, who will discuss what’s going on at the department. Lunch from the mini taco buffet and soda or coffee is available for $14.50, gratuity included. Please reserve a lunch by emailing info@libbychamber.org or calling 406-293-4167.

On Thursday, Aug. 16, the monthly “Business and Banter” networking event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Glacier Bank at 615 California Ave. in Libby. Refreshments and light appetizers will be served and raffles will be held. Business and Banter is open to the public and free to attend.

Following initial testing, a white-tailed deer in Lincoln County is suspected to be positive for chronic wasting disease, according to a press release from Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
