UPDATE: On Aug. 8 at 10:30 p.m. the News-Press was notified that the runaway minor female had been located and arrested by law enforcement for being an uncontrollable juvenile. A source who was involved in the search for her stated that she was found in Kellogg after meeting with a Kellogg Middle School staff member. Details on her identity and/or arrest are not available due to her underage status.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE:

KELLOGG– The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office is accepting information regarding the whereabouts of a female juvenile that was reported as a runaway Tuesday night.

The situation gained attention Wednesday morning when a Facebook post (with pictures) on the page “Silver Valley Classifieds You Wont Get Kicked Out,” asked residents to report any information to Kellogg Police if they had seen her.

Kellogg Police Chief David Wuolle explained that their agency was not handling the investigation, as the runaway report came from Bisanos Mobile Home Park– which falls into County jurisdiction.

SCSO Captain Jeremy Groves told the News-Press that deputies did respond to this call Tuesday night and the parents/guardians of the juvenile did sign her as a runaway.

At this time, the juvenile is not being identified as an official missing person; as the social media post states.

SCSO cannot release any information on the female juvenile (such as a description or name) because she is underage and considered a runaway (not a missing person).

Although SCSO also cannot say that the photos of the girl included in the social media post are of the runaway, sources that are close to the female juvenile have confirmed that they are of her.

Members of the church youth group that the runaway is allegedly a member of believe that she is in the Mullan area.

If you have any information about this incident, call SCSO at 208-556-1114.
