Libby man lying in highway killed by vehicle

A 34-year-old Libby man died after being run over by a vehicle on U.S. 2 early Thursday morning in Lincoln County.
According to Montana Highway Patrol, the man who died was lying in the westbound lane when he was hit by a Ford Tempo driven by a 43-year-old Libby man.
The incident occurred at milemarker 20.9, located between Troy and Libby, near Kootenai Falls.
It is unknown why the man was in the road, according to Highway Patrol. Blood samples from the victim were submitted for testing. It is also unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the incident.
