Flora Irene Smith Johns

Flora Irene Smith Johns went home to the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ our LORD, on July 16, 2018. Flora was born Dec. 22, 1917, a descendant of the original Jamestown settlers. She was born and raised in Southern California. She married Edgar B. Johns on Feb. 14, 1940.

She is survived by her four children: Leanne; Paul and his wife, Minerva; Gary and his wife, Kathy and Del and his wife, Ruth; along with nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; as well as huge extended family of loved ones.

Flora was a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a school teacher for 30 years. Flora, a Presbyterian, attended Emmanuel Presbyterian in Spokane, Wash., as well as Post Falls Community Presbyterian in Post Falls, Idaho. Flora served her church as a deacon, her community as a Pink Lady volunteer at the hospital and her neighborhood as an avid gardener.

Flora’s family invites all who knew her to a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 18, 2018, at Post Falls Presbyterian Church. There will be a life celebration held at Emanuel Presbyterian Church in Spokane on Aug. 19 immediately following the service.

Flora’s family would like to especially thank Dr. Lucas Anderson for his care and compassion, and also those who cared for her in her last days; C.N.A. Daisy Blachere and the rest of the committed caregivers at Advanced Health Care, and Hospice of North Idaho.
