A woman died in a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 93 bypass Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred at about 3 p.m. behind the Cabela’s store near Reserve Drive.

According to Kalispell Police officer Colton Bagnoli, a female driver, approximately in her 50s, was driving north in a green-colored car with Montana plates when she crossed the median and collided head-on with a southbound burgundy Ford Escape. It also had Montana plates.

The woman in the green car died at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt and police don’t believe alcohol was a factor.

The driver of the Escape, a woman, was accompanied by a male passenger. Both were injured and were taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
