ROYAL CITY — Five people, including two children, were injured in a weekend collision in Royal City.

About 6:30 p.m. Saturday night Brian Martlin, 57, of Bellevue, was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla east on state Route 26 and attempted to make a left turn onto Royal Avenue Northwest. The Corolla reportedly struck a 2001 Saturn SL2 driven by Severiano Valle, 56, of Royal City, who was traveling west on SR-26, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Martlin, Valle and his passengers, identified as Autumn Kynaston, 30, of Royal City, and two juvenile boys, were injured in the collision and transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for treatment.

The patrol says the three passengers in Valle’s vehicle were not wearing seatbelts. Martlin was cited for failure to yield on a left turn.
