Author to visit Sandpoint, Coeur d'Alene

“Late Harvest Green, an Idaho Farm Family Through the 20th Century” by native Idahoan, Lois Requist, will be the subject when she appears in Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint on Aug. 22-24th.

The public is invited to events being held in each community.

The Idaho setting is a vivid part of the story. Requist, who was born and raised in Nampa, has written two previous books, newspaper columns, poetry — she served as poet laureate of Benicia, Calif. — magazine articles on travel and many other subjects.

Joel Fallon, also a former poet laureate of Benicia, said of the book, “This tale of a family’s relationship with the land and the interaction of family members is destined to become an American classic. Characters are subtly defined and developed and the plot advances with grandeur and authority. Mature writing, and thoroughly enjoyable.”

Requist will be at the Friends of the Library Bookstore on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. and welcomes anyone to stop by and meet her. She is planning to read at the Sandpoint Library, details yet to be confirmed. She will be at Monarch Mountain Coffee Shop, 208 N. Fourth Ave., at 9 a.m., Friday, Aug. 24.

Published by Benicia Literary Arts, the book is expected to especially capture the attention of many Idahoans.
