EPHRATA — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Sunday near Ephrata.

About 6:30 p.m. Peter Cha, 64, of Federal Way, was driving a 2017 Lexus east on state Route 28, about two miles east of Ephrata, when he attempted to make a left turn. The Lexus reportedly struck a 1992 Geo Metro driven by Jacob Martinez, 59, of Ephrata, who was traveling west on SR-28. Both of the vehicles came to a rest blocking the westbound SR-28 lanes, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Martinez and Cha’s passenger, Heh Cha, 59, of Federal Way, were injured and transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake via ambulance for treatment. Both vehicles involved in the collision sustained reportable damages and were impounded.
