Everett outhits Spokane, rolls to an 11-6 victory

EVERETT, Wash. — The host AquaSox blasted three home runs en route to a convincing 11-6 victory over the Spokane Indians Monday night at Everett Memorial Stadium, before a crowd of 1,499.
Spokane (29-34, 13-12 second half) opened a three-run lead in the top of the fourth, on a two-RBI single by Sherten Apostel and Starling Joseph’s sacrifice fly.
But Everett responded in a big way in the bottom of the inning, using a three-run homer by Ryan Garcia and a three-run triple by Bobby Honeyman to plate six runs.
The Indians scored three in the top of the fifth to tie the game before the AquaSox tallied five more runs over their next two frames.
It was a rough night for Spokane’s pitchers, who allowed 11 runs on nine hits and 11 walks. On the other hand, the AquaSox pitchers struck out 13 Indians and allowed only four earned runs.
The two teams continue their three-game series tonight at 7:05 in Everett.
