SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Police are continuing to solicit information from the public as detectives continue their investigation into the murder of a Sandpoint man earlier this month.

Blas Salvador Alonzo “Duke” Dias was shot to death after opening his apartment door at the Meandering Moose to an assailant on Aug. 6. The male suspect then fled on foot, according to police.

Sandpoint Police believe they have recovered a gun that was used in the crime.

The gun, in additional other unspecified evidence, is being analyzed at an Idaho State Police lab.

“Detectives are continuing to interview witnesses and others whom they believe may have been involved in the shooting,” the city said in a news release that was issued on Monday.

Anyone with new or additional information is asked to contact the Sandpoint Police Department at 208-265-1482.
